Main Events Announced For Money In The Bank
On SmackDown Live, Shane McMahon announced two matches for the upcoming blue-brand pay-per-view Money In The Bank on June 18.
New WWE Champion Jinder Mahal will defend his title against Randy Orton, the man he defeated for the belt at Backlash. This is an underwhelming match. It would have been preferable to see Mahal defend the gold against a new challenger rather than square off with Orton again, especially as their Backlash match was somewhat disappointing.
The other bout revealed was the Money in the Bank ladder match with a contract for the WWE Championship up for grabs. The six participants will be Dolph Ziggler, Baron Corbin, Sami Zayn, AJ Styles, Kevin Owens, and Shinsuke Nakamura. On paper it could be phenomenal, though one does wonder what the criteria for inclusion was considering Corbin, Ziggler and Styles all lost their matches two nights earlier.
Also expected on the card is a rematch for the tag titles between The Usos and the increasingly popular Fashion Police, and a first-of-its-kind women’s Money in the Bank ladder match.
