No Way Out 2001

James Dixon: With a month to go before the historic WrestleMania X-Seven, the annual February PPV No Way Out is there to set the stage and put all the pieces in place for that event. Going into the show the majority of the title holders were already in place, with Chris Jericho wearing the Intercontinental strap and the Dudleys reigning as WWF Tag Team Champions. Both of those are fine. It is at the top of the card where the WWF wants to do some shuffling around, with the talented but not (yet) significantly marketable Kurt Angle the current WWF Champion going against The Rock. Steve Austin had won the Royal Rumble match to earn a title shot at ‘Mania, but first there is the small matter of Triple H to deal with, the man credited in storylines for masterminding the hit and run attack on him over a year ago. Tonight they go to war in a new kind of match: Three Stages of Hell.
